Beavers is..for boys and girls aged 6 – 8 years. It is one of the youngest sections of the scouting movement. Following Beavers your child may well progress into Cubs (boys aged 8 – 10 ½ ) and then Scouts (boys aged 10 ½ - 14 ½ ).
Beavers aim..is to, “promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities”. We also aim to actively promote the Beaver motto of “fun and friendship.” We realise that for many young children this is their first independent social experience, outside of school, and so we aim to provide positive social experiences that are fun and help build friendships, self-confidence and a caring attitude to others.
