Beavers News

Beavers Asks

Print PDF

In order that meetings run smoothly and that the Beavers get the most out of the activities on offer we respectfully ask parents to do the following:

  • Be prompt in dropping  your child off (the Scout Hut will be open from 6.20pm);
  • See your child into the  building and ensure that we have acknowledged their presence;
  • Inform us if your child is being picked up by someone else;
  • Inform us if your child is unable to attend a meeting or an organised event (call Brown Beaver (Julie Vale) on 07980282469) –

Failure to attend three Beaver meetings without notification will result in your child’s place becoming available for someone on the waiting list.

Parent Rota

The success of a Beaver colony depends upon its volunteers and as volunteer leaders we greatly appreciate the support of our Beavers’ parents. This partnership of support in our colony is demonstrated through our successful Parent Rota.

When your child joins the Beaver colony you will be asked to participate in our Parent Rota. In reality, this entails you volunteering your help for one meeting in every term. The Beavers benefit greatly from this parental input, as it brings new talents, expertise and strengths to the group.

So that you are able to join our parent rota (circulated within our Half-Termly Newsletter), you will be asked to complete a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) Form. To complete this CRB form you will need to provide the Beaver Scout Leader with your passport and a recent utilities bill, which will be returned promptly.

District Events

Each Beaver, Cub and Scout group belongs to a district. We are part of Fylde District, whose headquarters are based in St.Annes. Throughout the year there will be a number of district events, which provide Beavers with the opportunity to join together with other colonies and feel part of a larger scouting community.

Some regular District Beaver Events Include: Jamborees, Climbing Wall Fun Days, Beaver/Cub Fun Days, Sleepovers, Sandcastle & Sausage Sizzle.
